The Grammy Award in the category “Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media” went to Randy Newman for Toy Story 3. Hans was nominated for Inception and Sherlock Holmes.
9th Oscar Nomination!

Yesterday the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards (Oscars). As for the Golden Globes last week Hans Zimmer has also been nominated for an Oscar for Inception.
This is Hans’ 9th Academy Award nomination. He has been nominated for the first time in 1988 for his score for Barry Levinson’s Rain Man. He won the award once in 1994 for The Lion King.

The Oscar went to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for “The Social Network”.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recently announced their nominations for the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards.
Hans Zimmer earned a nomination for his score Inception. Christopher Nolan’s science fiction drama has also been nominated for Best Picture Drama, Best Director and Best Screenplay.
Alongside of Hans Zimmer in the category Best Original Score For Motion Picture are nominated: – Alexandre Desplat for “The King’s Speech” – Danny Elfman for “Alice in Wonderland” – A. R. Rahman for “127 Hours” – Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross for “The Social Network”
The awards will be presented tomorrow sunday.

Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan released a free iPhone application named “Inception”, a dream game with heavily used techniques of augmented reality stuff.
Hans was honoured with a Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in December last year.
Hans has been nominated twice for the Grammy Award in the category “Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media”. Inception and Sherlock Holmes are the elected scores.
